If so, you might be entitled to compensation as part of a new class action.
In 2017, Saint John engaged in a program to renovate and replace the source and means of supply of drinking water to the west side of the city. Pursuant to this program, the city changed the source of drinking water supplied to west Saint John from the Spruce Lake Reservoir to a new well source which had a distinct chemistry that was known to the city. This change in water supply and/or water pressure exposed water pipes, appliances, and equipment to that distinct chemistry, causing widespread failure.
In response to public demand, lawyers Rodney J. Gillis, Q.C. and John C. Gillis from the Saint John firm Gilbert McGloan Gillis and Celeste Poltak and Garth Myers from Koskie Minsky have filed a class action on behalf of affected Saint John residents seeking financial compensation from those responsible.
